Yes, I caught up with Badar Khushnood, the Google Pakistan Country Consultant on phone earlier today. It was pretty detailed and was a pleasure talking to him.
In the response of my proposal, he said he already had this thing under his notice and was aware of my doodle proposal. He was open enough to say not to expect my doodle to be selected or published at least this year. Plus Google holds a strong Islamic/Arabic department which is lead by Googlers from Arab countries. So if there is going to be
an Islamic/Muslim doodle created, the Arabs will have a better chance to produce one unless an exception. He also stressed on the time delay that might occur and said ” Even such little things have big things going on behind them, which naturally takes time.”
For people who say Google is biased or Google doesn’t listens to Muslim community, Badar clarified about the Ramadan Gadgets for iGoogle that are already functional. Perhaps we should at least do a little research on our part, prior to calling a company biased. And surprisingly, most of us will use the same company to do the research.
Badar also discussed the recent visit of Rishi Jaitly to Pakistan. It was the first official visit of any Googler to Pakistan. Later, on Google Policy Blog, Rishi told everyone about his visit starting off with “How do we develop points of view about places we have not seen and people we have not met?”. It was worth reading.
Badar, being the only Googler from Pakistan is doing a great job. Rishi’s visit to Pakistan is a fruit for his efforts and it took him a long time to achieve it. Keeping in mind that Rishi said this visit will act as a vital step in strengthening Google’s relationship with Pakistani users and institutions. And Not to forget, the Western Union pickup option for Adsense Publishers in Pakistan, which saves them nearly 50 days of waiting period for the funds to get in their pocket, was also a result of his efforts. I’m looking forward to meet him after he is back to Pakistan from Google Office, for which he will be leaving next month.
Will keep you guys updated..
cheers

Well now i must say that i’m disappointed. You are just trying to be a famous guy.And if you would have read ‘Google is Biased’ then you must be knowing that what i meant. And also my articles in other Blogs. You didn’t read and just speculating.I wrote that Google is for muslims and does things that yahoo, msn dont. But doodle should have been done long time ago.Now you are just trying to get some attention.Well the idea was mine, everyone knows and will be mine. You aint supporting the cause rather just playing around for yourself. So,do what ever you want.I don’t think you want to supprt us.
P.S. thanks for what you did so far…

@Bites85 To be very honest, I’m still confused as what are you trying to achieve? I did what I thought was right, and I have no regrets whatsoever. Probably you should have collected the same amount of attention for your blog, if you would have created a unique content like I did. And what do you want me to support you for? Probably you wanted me to write a long article against Google but all I had as a reply was my own doodle proposal, which was later copied by you :o) anyways, chill..
@Zubair I admire your perception dude, I like the way you look at things. People are people afterall lol

@Alee, you’ve strengthened my comments posted on Teeth’s blog at: teeth.com.pk/blog/2008/09/23/google-doodle-muslims-pakistanis
There’s much more to Badar’s credit…
@Bite85, you certainly raised the voice but please support the real issue positively and in the larger spirit of the cause. If we, Pakistanis, start fighting for ‘credits’ as to who initiated the talk, then we will never have a joint stronger voice.
Be united for the cause — leave the egos and the one-self’s behind! Grow-up and be more responsible.

@Buzzvines Welcome and thank you for commenting on itsaLee first of all
Well all I can say about this topic is, that we have a very bad habbit of calling it a “half empty” glass.
With a negative frame of mind, we can never ever survive in the current and coming period of time. I admire your positive vibes emitting comments of being united. Hence being stronger.
