Google, due to its global approach is also known as the Big G. When we talk about Google Doodles, we have seen one for nearly every occasion, but when it comes to Muslim occasions, we haven’t seen one yet. Keeping in mind 15% of the Google’s traffic comes from Muslim countries, leaving the traffic of Muslim’s residing in USA and Canada from where Google is getting its 42% of traffic.
But that’s not my topic today. Here is how it goes, earlier today I ran into a blog, through a post which was titled Google Is Biased? It had all those rants and whines about Why Google Has Never Produced A Doodle For A Muslim Occasion? It had a long list of commentators, all compelling one or another reason and view points.. that is when I decided to give it a go and make a Ramadan / Eid Doodle and there is what I ended up with..

Though it cannot be compared to the standards of Dennis Hwang (Guy who designs doodles for Google) but it is enough to create a much needed spark. I have contacted Badar Khushnood, the Google Pakistan Country Consultant regarding using this doodle (or a better version which I can make) as Google’s Official doodle on the upcoming holy event of Eid ul Fitr. If not globally, then for at least the Muslim users who use country dedicated Google hompage like google.com.pk for Pakistan. Hope to be heard..
This act will surely spread a surprised smile on millions of faces.
UPDATE : I had a detailed chat with Badar Khushnood, read more about it here.

Does anybody has contacts in the media? Get this matter positively in the print? We should make a case logically why Google should consider it and how it would help it gain more respect in the Muslim world.
Can anybody help highlight this and the Kashmir Mapmaker issue [ http://www.buzzvines.com/Google-Earth-Maps-Azad-Jammu-Kashmir-Google-MapMaker-Kashmir-India-Kashmir-Map-Google-Street-Maps-Road-Map ] to conventional media?
And, once again, please be positive in creating a voice in whatever medium you can!
